MILAN - on 25th February in Milan, S.Pellegrino launched celebrations to mark its first 120 years, choosing for the occasion the prestigious location of the Palazzo Reale, and in partnership with the Camera Della Moda (National Chamber of Italian Fashion).
The history of S.Pellegrino at the table
The Sala delle Cariatidi hosted a lavish table animated by a spectacular series of portrayals chosen to narrate the history of S.Pellegrino, spanning two centuries along a path that intersects fashion, cinema, design and fine dining. Four chapters were portrayed: the origins of water, describing its journey from cloud to rock; a glorious story represented by the Casino of S.Pellegrino; the company’s international success, depicted through the skylines of the main cities of the world; and the unveiling of the special edition designed for the anniversary - a new bottle, embellished with an exclusive design that reinterprets the faceted surface of a diamond.
Three young talents that stood out among the many participants of the S.Pellegrino Young Chef competition, Italian chef Paolo Griffa, Japanese chef Yasuhiro Fujio and Peruvian Elisabeth Puquio Landeo, under the guidance of the three-starred chef Enrico Cerea, designed the unique menu for the anniversary dinner. This was an occasion for S.Pellegrino to look to the future, focusing the spotlight on a new generation of chefs.
The evening's guests
Among the guests were Carlo Capasa, Chairman of the National Chamber of Italian Fashion, the designer Giulio Cappellini, and Dario Rinero, CEO of Poltrone Frau. Also in attendance were several celebrity chefs including Carlo Cracco, Davide Oldani, Andrea Berton, Anthony Genovese, Moreno Cedroni, Fabio Pisani, Antonio and Alberto Santini, gathered together to celebrate an Italian icon that is a symbol of excellence, elegance and style, an ambassador of the Italian way of life. The wine partner for the evening was Franciacorta, an excellence in Italian wine-making, which devised a tasting journey matched with the different dishes proposed by the chefs.
Precious and unique, like a diamond
The Anniversary Edition, unveiled by the brand during the dinner, is a true collector’s item, featuring an exclusive design that reinterprets the faceted surface of a diamond. “For the anniversary edition we were inspired by a natural element—the diamond—something pure and precious, originating from the earth, just like S.Pellegrino,” said Federico Sarzi Braga, Chairman and CEO of the S.Pellegrino Group. “Diamonds, just like the most authentic emotions, are forever. For S.Pellegrino, the most precious moments are those that unite people around a table. The Anniversary Edition is a tribute to the taste for sharing.”
The Anniversary Edition will be the focal point on tables in the best Italian restaurants during the month of April, as part of the special initiative, Diamond Week. The celebrations dedicated to the anniversary will continue throughout the year, involving the most important events in the international culinary community, including the World's 50 Best Restaurants in Singapore, and with the most prestigious initiatives in the world of fashion and cinema, such as Milan Fashion Week and the Cannes Film Festival.
