Di cosa ha bisogno il nostro corpo per rimanere giovane?

What does our body need to stay young?

Foods which are rich in water and anti-oxidants will help our skin to stay vibrant

MILAN –  Slowing down the ageing process of our bodies is an unspoken objective of each one of us. Staying healthy and fit are a topic of daily reflection and the easiest way to ensure our bodies stay in tip-top condition is to eat properly, combined with adequate hydration. It seems to be taken for granted, but introducing foods which are rich in water and anti-oxidants into our diet will help detoxify the body, giving a healthy and long-lasting radiance to the skin. Including these anti-ageing nutrients in one’s daily diet is essential for staying young and protecting skin and hair.

A range of fresh vegetables

Including a wide variety of vegetables in your diet, like peppers and broccoli, will ensure a high intake of nutrients, but will also bring aesthetic benefits, such as reducing fine lines around the eyes and mouth. All peppers have a high water content, but the green ones got to the top of the class (93.9% water). Next come the red and yellow varieties (which contain around 92% water). Contrary to popular belief, green peppers contain many anti-oxidants. Broccoli, on the other hand, from a nutritional point of view, is high in fibre, potassium, vitamin A and vitamin C and has a significant quantity of sulforaphane: a compound which increases the production of enzymes to protect the body. Carrots, sweet potatoes and mangoes are rich in beta-carotene, which, once converted into vitamin A, helps destroy free radicals and prevents damage to skin cells.

Coconut oil

Coconut oil has many anti-ageing benefits and helps protect skin from free radicals, giving it a young, fresh appearance. It is also a natural moisturiser, which, when applied to the skin, acts like a cream and can replace any body lotion.

Seafood

This is an extremely important source of Omega 3. Almost all fish and seafood, such as salmon, mackerel, or herrings, will help retain moisture in the skin, rendering it soft and elastic.

Dark chocolate

The flavonoids in cacao improve blood circulation and supply nutrients to maintain healthy hair. Moreover, they protect sun-damaged skin and increase its density and hydration.

Linseeds

These contribute to reduce dryness in the eyes, adolescent acne and the desquamation of the skin.  Rich in healthy oils and fibre, they are very effective for weight loss. Linseed oil is an excellent choice for your shopping trolley, containing an especially high concentration of healthy oils.
